If you have diabetes you should know that it is important to avoid sugar spikes so it is recommended to stick as closely as possible to these dietary guidelines:
- Eat plenty of vegetables especially peas and beans that are rich in silicon and also rich in certain hormones that have an insulin-like performance.
- Eat cucumber, garlic and onion to reduce the level of blood sugar because they contain natural hormones needed by the pancreas to produce insulin.
- Eat Nopal, either cooked or raw as this cactus leaves contain organic natural insulin.
- Before breakfast take a daily liquefied nopal (half of a leaf or an entire sheet if the variety chambray) with a xoconostle (a type of tuna) and a glass of water, you can add the juice a lemon and a slice of apple or a slice of pineapple.
- Alfalfa is highly recommended either in smoothies, tea or supplement.
- It is also important to include celery, watercress, parsley and artichokes in your daily diet.
- Prefer to start the meal a hearty salad of raw vegetables.
- Contrary to what is usually recommended diabetic it can and should eat fruit because although carbohydrates are complex carbohydrates that contain fructose (fruit sugar) and insulin to metabolize not needed. You can even consume grapefruit and banana for its high content of potassium, essential for the diabetic.
- Diabetic person should do several small meals throughout the day (instead of the traditional 3 meals) at intervals not exceeding 3-4 hours to keep your sugar levels under control.
- Do not eat simple carbohydrates found in refined flour (such as cakes, sweet bread, flour tortillas, white bread, donuts, cookies, etc.).
- If you eat carbs, prefer cereals like oatmeal or whole wheat, legumes such as beans, peas and lentils especially.
- With each food take 3 almonds or walnut halves 3 natural.
- Avoid soda, coffee, alcohol and snuff.
Other complementary therapies recommended:
1. Start by doing daily exercise as much as your personal status permits and go increasing your fitness until you can do at least 1 hour of exercise that includes aerobic exercise (at least 30 minutes), stretching exercises (15 minutes) and 15 minutes of resistance exercise to build muscle mass.
2. Perform skin brushing dry for a few minutes before bath as in diabetic improve circulation is extremely important.
3. Every day if possible, take a steam bath or sun.
4. Perform a weekly intestinal wash for a month.
